Melbourne Restaurants

We are back from Melbourne which was great as always - and sunny compared with Sydney .

Met with the book printer and saw “The McNeil Project “ play at a tiny theatre called “45 Downstairs” in Flinders Lane.

Cumulus Inc is a good restaurant just next door to the theatre. http://cumulusinc.com.au/

The play was written by Jim McNeil while in Parramatta prison in the 70s.

He also wrote the screenplay for “My Brilliant Career”.

After release from jail he married Robin Nevin and without the structured jail life, reverted to his violent ways. A very confronting play. A bit like our (all of us) recidivism with alcohol, gambling and travel.

Went to a couple of very interesting restaurants with great food.

MoVida in Flinders St near Fed Square for Spanish tapas, where the fried whole whiting and eggplant chips were amazing, http://www.movida.com.au/

and

Hell of the North in Fitzroy (with a yellow door just like the Cross restaurant in the 80s,

Where everything old is new again including Onion Soup, Steak Tartare and Crepes Suzette)

Have a look at their websites, small sharing portions and they make the money on the grog.
